Case Study #2: Tjaden Hall

Scope of Work
- Recommissioned the existing mechanical and control systems to optimize overall system performance.
- Modified the existing constant volume air system to a variable air volume system to reduce the unnecessarily high air change rates in the office and academic spaces.
- Installed passive infrared occupancy sensors and replaced most of the existing pneumatic controls with electronic controls to enable occupied and unoccupied modes of operation.
- Installed variable speed drives on the existing hot water/glycol heating system circulation pumps to reduce pump motor energy use at partial loads.
- Removed the unused chilled water coils and replaced the existing filters with high efficiency, low static pressure filters to reduce fan motor energy use.
