Case Study #6: Rhodes Hall
Scope of Work
· Recommissioned the existing mechanical and control systems to optimize overall system performance.
- Installed PIR occupancy sensors and replaced most of the existing pneumatic controls with electronic controls in the lab spaces to reduce the air change rates and enable occupied and unoccupied modes of operation.
- Sectionalized the supply and return ductwork throughout the building to allow unoccupied periods on all non-critical spaces and installed user override pushbuttons in central locations for limited cooling during unoccupied periods.
- Replaced the electric humidification units in the existing Lieberts in the data centers and server rooms with ultrasonic units to substantially reduce electric and cooling energy use.
