Case Study #1: Olin Hall
Scope of Work
· Recommissioned the existing mechanical and control systems to optimize overall system performance.
· Installed passive infrared (PIR) occupancy sensors and replaced most of the existing pneumatic controls with electronic controls in 40 labs to enable occupied and unoccupied modes of operation (i.e., reduce the air change rates by 50% when the spaces are unoccupied).
· Installed variable speed drives (VSDs) on existing air handling units to reduce fan motor energy use at partial heating or cooling loads.
